Hankook Tire to Supply Kinergy GT for the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a sport utility vehicle that will come with Hankook tires as standard. According to Hankook, the Kinergy GT is the perfect match for this subcompact SUV. The tire is designed to offer excellent performance on different terrains and road conditions.

Hankook has gone ahead and introduced different variants for the different trims the Trailblazer comes in. The Trailblazer RS will be available with a new set of Kinergy 225/55R18H tires. Hankook will provide the Dynapro AT2 (RF11) 225/60R17H for the ACTIV trim while the base model will sport Kinergy 215/65R16H tires.

The Kinergy GT is an all-season tire, meaning it performs exemplary well in all weather conditions. Its 3D-hydroplaning feature helps its unique tread design to evacuate water on wet surfaces. This is also made possible thanks to the wide lateral grooves.

The tire also comes with a rigid center rib that optimizes tread block stiffness. This enhances performance on dry surfaces. The tire’s lateral groove tread design is also optimized for winter. This helps with traction and performance since the season is one of the hardest to drive in.

The treads are backed by Hankook’s patented high-grip silica. The dual filler system incorporates high dispersible for low rolling resistance, improved wear, and superior performance and handling. You get a comfortable and durable drive all through.

Head of Hankook Tire America Technical Center, Robert Wheeler, said that Hankook partnered with General Motors to produce the Kinergy GT. They employed their virtual performance capabilities and teamed up with engineers and designers in choosing materials, manufacturing, and testing. This was necessary to meet the driving needs of the average Trailblazer owner who can use the SUV for an active lifestyle.

Hankook decided to go with the Dynapro AT2 for the Chevrolet Trailblazer ACTIV trim. According to the company, the tire is an ideal complement for the car’s style. It helps the car to maneuver off-road and improve traction and driving capabilities.

The Trailblazer RS comes with tiered headlights, a two-toned roofline, and a macho front grill. Head of Hankook Tire OE Division Hyunjun Cho said that the Kinergy GT is a popular tire among may car manufacturers. It’s a great complement to Chevrolet’s new addition in its SUV lineup. The company is happy to continue its long-term business relationship with Chevy as they work to roll out new products for more of their vehicles.

Hankook has been supplying tires to General Motors since 2002. Other cars that come with Hankook tires include the Buick Encore, GMC Terrain, and Chevrolet Malibu, Spark, Sonic, and Equinox. With the Trailblazer, the tire manufacturer marks the 46th automaker with whom it has partnered to supply original equipment.
