BFGoodrich has something in store for the first quarter of 2022. The company plans to introduce the 18″ size for the Baja T/Z KR3. This will be for the Best in the Desert (BITD) Trick Truck and SCORE Trophy Truck vehicles.
“Being the leader of innovation in off-road racing has been key to our motorsports success for BFGoodrich,” said Tony Menard, Motorsports Director for Michelin North America, Inc. and BFGoodrich Tires. “We spent time with our athlete partners to understand what we can do to improve their performance on the course. The 18” Baja T/A KR3 is a result of determined collaboration between athletes and our technical team.”
All-wheel-drive has gained quite a popularity among race teams. The unlimited class trucks have experienced a fast-paced change. For instance, several engine builders have increased horsepower in the last five seasons. The new Baja T/A KR3 tire comes with an 18″ seat wheel diameter for extra brake and suspension clearance.
Customers can now fit larger front brake packages to get the most out of their newfound horsepower. In addition to more performance, they will also get to enjoy improved steering response, handling, and better braking thanks to the shorter sidewall.
The iteration of the Baja T/A KR3 BFGoodrich tires utilizes the latest race-winning tread and casing compounds. The 40×12.50R18 Baja T/A KR3 raises the bar again thanks to tests carried out in the southwestern United States and the deserts of Baja California, Mexico by champion-winning drivers. Thanks to the engineering and design done in the U.S. by the company, BFGoodrich remains to be a successful brand in desert racing history.
