Continental Picks New Leaders for Asia and Europe

Continental entered the new year by picking new leaders for its passenger car and truck tire replacement business in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

Ferdinand Hoyos will lead the company’s replacement tire business in EMEA and will continue to report to Christian Kötz – a member of the Executive Board of Continental AG.

Hoyos has been in charge of the replacement tire business in APAC region since 2018. He takes over from Philipp Hirschheydt who is moving to the company’s Automotive group sector. He will be in charge of the new user experience business area while there.

Hoyos’ successor is Dalibor Kalina who will be the new head of the replacement tire business in the APAC region. He will report to Christian Kötz. Kalina has been leading Continental’s passenger car replacement tire business in China since 2015.

Ferdinand Hoyos started as a strategy and corporate finance consultant before joining Continental in 2006. He was also in charge of the M&A and corporate real estate management team at Continental and led the replacement tire business in Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru (Andina Region). He has been in charge of the APAC region since 2018.

Philipp Hirschheydt worked in corporate finance and M&A in banking before joining Continental in 20007. He has experience in both the Tires and Automotive divisions. He was responsible for overseeing the replacement tire business in the EMEA region since 2018.

Dalibor Kalina worked at the Slovakian tire manufacturer Matadorat first. The manufacturer has been part of Continental since 2007. He was in sales before being promoted to Managing Director of Matador in 2007. He oversaw the company’s integration into Continental.

He then took up management positions at Continental Tires China and Continental Barum (Czech Republic). His last role was head of marketing for the China-based passenger car replacement tire business.
