BFGoodrich Partners With Volcon To Co-Develop EV Tires

BFGoodrich will partner with Volcon to create an optimized tire, vehicle suspension system, and tire pressure monitoring system designed to enhance the performance of electric UTV vehicles. Volcon is the first all-electric, off-road powersports company.

The two are set to work together on different phases of development. Under the company, Volcon Tech Innovation Group (VTIG) will explore advanced technologies to evolve and advance current and future products. This will be the first company to work with BFGoodrich to leverage the power of the EV motor.

BFGoodrich will share its ActiveAir Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) to help make real-time changes that aim to improve off-road performance and increase the battery range of future UTV Volcon products. Michelin will supply the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 UTV tire to Volcon as standard equipment on the 2023 Stag LE models.

The tire is a must-have for off-road enthusiasts that require extreme toughness and traction. Like all BFGoodrich tires, the KM3 has a Standard Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty that will enhance the quality of the all-electric Volcon UTV and strengthen the customer’s confidence in the Stag LE.

Volcon is dedicated to meeting the standards and expectations of its end customers and dealers. It does this by upholding the highest quality of products and materials installed on all electric off-road vehicles. The Stag LE helps to reduce the cost of ownership and allows customers to enjoy the capabilities of a high-performance UTV.

Its deliberate mission to connect people to outdoor experiences is what made this collaboration possible. The declaration between the two companies allows them to combine a deep talent pool of off-road fans who know more about the outdoors and the pain of having poorly equipped vehicles. The collaboration will help reduce the environmental impact and create a more sustainable off-roading future.

“As the market evolves towards electric vehicles, BFGoodrich is excited to work with companies that embody the adventure spirit,” says Harold Phillips, General Global Manager for BFGoodrich Tires. “Collaborating with Volcon will allow us to innovate in an exciting direction, and help lead the industry into the future of off-roading.”

“We are excited to work with a world-leading tire supplier,” explained Christian Okonsky, Chief Technology Officer of Volcon ePowersports based in Texas. “The joining of our teams and technology will bring invaluable knowledge and experience to the development process as we work to bring industry-leading EV-specific solutions to market.”
