Continental Tire is now the Official Tire of Universal Technical Institute (UTI) – an institute that provides technical training for those looking to start an entry-level career as technicians in the automotive industry.
The partnership will involve the supply of curriculum and campus aides to all of UTI’s 15 locations across the nation.
Thie partnership will allow Continental Tire customers to gain access to certified automotive technicians that will take up any vacant automotive service positions in the US.
Campuses across the country will receive training aids that can be used to educate students about the construction and performance of tires. The tire maker will also provide Continental tires and racks to all campuses to support mount and balance training.
The company also has plans to provide access to its Engage360 training modules to both students and instructors. This will help cover tire basics, product information, and sales scenarios for passenger, SUV, crossover, light truck, and commercial vehicle tires.
Students from UTI across the US will gain experience in tire mounting and balancing. They will also run Continental tires on the company’s chassis dynos as they strive to make horsepower and torque.
