Continental’s Timisoara Plant Marks 300 Millionth Tire On 25th Anniversary

Continental’s plant in Timisoara, Romania was founded in 1988. The plant makes up to 16.5 million tires annually and is among Europe’s largest. It has created more than 2,700 permanent jobs since inception and has seen more than 600 million Euros in investment.

On October 12, 2023, the factory celebrated 25 years since its foundation. On the same day, it marked the making of the 300 millionth tire. The event was held in the form of a town hall meeting. It represented the relentless hard work the employees have put in over the years.

The plant produces original equipment tires as well as replacement tires for a wide variety of vehicles. This includes van and performance tires ranging from 13 to 20 inches in size. The 21-inch tire is currently in the testing phase.

The Timisoara plant has produced Continental tires for more than 75 million vehicles globally. It has gradually transformed from a greenfield plant to one of the major contributors in Europe. Matthieu Turlure, the Plant Manager, expressed his gratitude to his team and was happy to be at the lead of progress and culture in Timisoara.
