Continental to Build First Fully-Owned Tire Distribution Center in U.S.

Continental Tires is set to launch its first fully-owned tire distribution center in the United States, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, marking a significant investment to improve service levels and customer support.

The new facility, designed with future expansion in mind, will be a critical component of the company’s long-term sustainability and operational goals. Construction of the center is scheduled to begin in September 2024, with an initial capacity to store over 800,000 Continental tires.

The 753,000-square-foot facility is expected to commence operations in 2026 and has the potential to expand to 1.25 million square feet as demand grows. Continental selected the Dallas-Fort Worth location after conducting an extensive network study, identifying the area as a key distribution hub for its premium tire products. Currently, the company serves the U.S. market through seven distribution centers.

Bill Caldwell, Senior Vice President of Continental Passenger Car and Light Truck Tires in the U.S., emphasized the significance of the new facility, noting that it demonstrates Continental’s dedication to enhancing customer service.

He explained that the distribution center will feature advanced automation technology and sustainability initiatives, including solar panels, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to environmentally conscious operations. Caldwell also remarked that the facility will serve as a model for future projects focused on renewable energy and modern building designs.
