Continental Launches New MTB Tire Lineup with Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal Tires

Continental introduced three groundbreaking mountain bike tires — Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal. The three tires replace the brand’s iconic Race King, Cross King, and Mountain King ProTection tires, with more sophisticated features that are tailored for cross-country, downcountry, and all-mountain use. The triple expansion of their MTB tire range ensures that a rider at any level can have the best tire for every trail.

Drawing on years of experience and a long process of testing, the new models use high-tech materials to deliver more performance, durability, and traction in a range of conditions. Whether on high-speed tracks, technical singletrack, or tough all-mountain terrain, these Continental tires offer the grip and control to tackle any ride.

New MTB Tire Models:

Dubnital: Speed Meets Control

Designed for dry to damp conditions, the Dubnital is perfect for hardpack, rock, and moderately loose conditions. Created for XC and downcountry riders, the Dubnital builds on what made the Race King tire so popular and brings its performance to new heights. With a new tread pattern and enhanced rubber compounds, the Dubnital offers premium efficiency, grip, and control at high speeds, making the Dubnital a speedmaster on the trails.

Trinotal: Versatility in All Conditions

The Trinotal handles dry and wet conditions flawlessly, tackling a combination of hard and loose terrain with ease. An ideal choice for XC and downcountry riders, the Trinotal replaces the Cross King favorite, offering outstanding grip and stability on varying terrain. Its design makes it the ideal choice for the contemporary trail rider who demands a tire that will adapt to the capriciousness of combined terrain.

Magnotal: All-Mountain Power

Created for aggressive trail and all-mountain riders, the Magnotal is the ideal mix of control and performance. With exceptional performance on dry and wet terrain, the Magnotal is surefooted on hard, loose, and muddy surfaces. A direct descendant of the Mountain King, the Magnotal is a universal all-around tire, bridging the gap between gravity and XC/DC riding. With its exceptional grip, the Magnotal provides riders with the confidence to tackle even the most difficult trails.

The Expanded MTB Tire Range

Through the introduction of the Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal, Continental’s expanded MTB range now consists of eight models. These three new tires augment the five current models of the well-regarded Gravity range, offering options for different riding demands and terrain. The Gravity range includes:

  • Xynotal: Unmatched control for rock and hardpack tracks
  • Kryptotal Front and Rear: Perfect balance between stability, traction, and rolling resistance for combined terrain
  • Argotal: Enhanced cornering stability and lateral grip for loose ground
  • Hydrotal: Best possible grip and self-cleaning on wet and muddy trails

Together, these models represent the pinnacle of MTB tire technology and offer the cyclist the best in durability, grip, and performance.

Continental’s Commitment to Innovation

Alexander Haenke, Product Manager for MTB & Gravel at Continental Tires, commented on the launch: “With the release of Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal, we’re thrilled to complete the overhaul of our MTB lineup, replacing our legendary ‘Kings’. These new models align perfectly with the design philosophy of our Gravity range, providing riders with endless possibilities to customize their setups. We extensively tested these tires with gold-medal-winning riders to ensure they perform at the highest level possible—now it’s time for riders to take them to new levels across all disciplines. We’ve already validated our technology in gravity racing, and we can’t wait to witness how riders will apply these tires across other MTB disciplines.

As the MTB scene keeps evolving, Continental’s broader tire range is at the forefront of performance, innovation, and versatility, so all riders, from elite racers to weekend adventurers, can obtain the perfect tire for every trail.
