Cooper Tire Releases New Discoverer® Rugged Trek™ All-Terrain Tire

In response to the fast-approaching summer season, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has announced the launch of its new Discoverer® Rugged Trek™ tire.

This is an all-season SUV and pickup truck tire that is available for all consumers throughout the US. It offers on-road performance, flexibility in driving, and a rugged and powerful design for off-road adventures.

The Discoverer® Rugged Trek™ tire caters to three important needs that every dual-terrain driver needs: longevity, appearance, and hybrid performance.

The company decided to answer these needs by ensuring the tire can offer off-road capabilities, excellent on-road handling, wet grip, and great looks for a mud tire. Buyers also get a long-lasting warranty of up to 60,000 miles.

“The Cooper team has focused on truly understanding the Discoverer Rugged Trek consumer and providing the right combination of features to make the product stand out,” said Michiel Kramer, Executive Director, Product Marketing for Cooper Tire. “We wanted to combine the spirit and physicality of off-roading with a well-mannered on-road tire, and the Discoverer Rugged Trek exceeds expectations in both categories.”

Some of the several features that will allow the Discoverer Rugged Trek tire to perform well this spring and summer include:

  1. Whisper Grooves™ that block the rush of air. This helps to reduce noise when driving on the highway.
  2. Stable Trac™ Technology that improves traction, both on- and off-road. This gives the driver more control.
  3. Earth Diggers™ that forcefully dig deep into mud, sand, and uneven surfaces to make sure the tire gains a solid foothold in unpredictable off-road conditions.
  4. Rough Terrain™ Tread Pattern that keeps stones and rocks out of the tread and on the ground. This effectively minimizes the chances of the tire getting damaged or losing traction when being used off-road.

Beyond this Cooper tire’s practical features, drivers also get to choose between two different sidewall designs. This includes the Mountain Pass and the Knife Edge designs. The latter provides a much bolder design while the latter is more refined. While the two designs are distinct in appearance, both boast raised black lettering and improve off-road movement using deep, long cleats.

“We felt that giving drivers a choice in the appearance of their tires was a logical next step. Each sidewall adds a different flair and makes the Discoverer Rugged Trek a more customized addition to your vehicle,” added Kramer.

Some of the competing offerings that the Discoverer Rugged Trek tire beats include the Nitto® Ridge Grappler®, Goodyear® Wrangler DuraTrac®, and Toyo® Open Country® R/T1. It offers a better treadwear warranty. The tire also outperforms the Nitto® Ridge Grappler®, Goodyear® Wrangler DuraTrac®, and Toyo® Open Country® R/T when it comes to stopping quickly and providing better grip on turns and wet roads.
