Kumho Tire: Celebrating 60 Years of Excellence

Kumho Tire Co. Inc. recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in the tire business. The company was formed in 1960 in Korea and opened its first plant in the U.S. in 2016.

During the celebration, the representatives said that Kumho was looking into the future and promised to extend its portfolio with new products and services. The main focus will remain on “innovation, safety, and quality manufacturing.”

In the last 60 years, Kumho Tire has maintained a tradition of upholding excellence in its provision of innovative ideas to customers. These ideas have helped solve production and user challenges in the automotive industry.

The company was the first foreign manufacturer to provide the research and development of 31-inch UHP radial tires for the U.S. Air Force. It is widely acknowledged as the ‘science and technology powerhouse’ in Korea. Products are made to adhere to the highest quality and safety standards in their design, processes, sale, after-sale support, and manufacture.

Kumho is also continuously working hard to grow its parent company’s effort to expand its global operations. Kumho Business is already trusted by customers from 180 countries across the globe. In 2016, the tire manufacturer opened its first plant in Macon, Ga.

It had already entered into a marketing agreement with the NBA two years earlier. The team in particular was the Atlanta Hawks. It was the team closest to the new plant at the time. Kumho is the official tire partner of the G-League and NBA, as well as the Hawks.

Speaking about the celebration, CEO Jeon Dae Jin said that he was grateful to everyone that had supported the company throughout the years. He was humbled by his team’s success and hopes to stay ahead in providing high-quality products and services. This will help build a strong foundation for a successful future.
