Kumho Tire to Provide More OE tires for Skoda

Kumho Tire has been supplying OE tires for the Skoda Octavia since May this year. This is Skoda’s best seller in the subcompact vehicle segment. In a new announcement, the South Korean tire manufacturer said that it will expand its supply to the Skoda Kamiq – the latter’s new compact crossover – starting January 2021. The supplied tire will be the 205/60R16 Ecsta PS71.

Original Equipment tires are built and designed to match the performance characteristics of each car make and model. They are tuned to meet the manufacturer’s desires and to work in synchrony with how the car is built.

Skoda started out as a bicycle maker in 1895. It is one of the oldest car manufacturers. The Octavia is currently in its fourth generation and has been the company’s flagship model for a long time. It was first launched in 1959 and sells about 400,000 units every year. It has steadily grown to be a favorite among many consumers.

The manufacture of the Skoda Octavia started in 1959 but was later suspended in 1971. The car was revived in 1996 and has since been the Czech Republic’s’ national car’. It ranked eighth in Germany in terms of sales in 2019 and is quite popular in Europe and China.

The Kamiq was first revealed at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show as a new subcompact crossover vehicle from Skoda. It was developed with the aim of expanding Skoda’s SUV lineup. It’s expected to grow into a major model as small SUVs continue to gain recognition in the industry.

Kumho Tire’s Ecsta PS71 is a premium sports UHP tire that is designed to offer high performance, strong driving stability at high speeds, long mileage, and excellent handling. The tire features excellent braking on wet roads, a major focus of the Ecsta LE Sport model.
