Cooper Tire Releases New Roadmaster® Steer Tire for Long-Haul Fleets

Cooper Tire

The Roadmaster RM832+ EM™ steer tire is the latest product from Cooper Tire to be included in its commercial long-haul lineup. It is SmartWay Verified and comes with a wide footprint and 18/32nds of tread depth to help distribute the weight more efficiently, hence, improving treadwear.

The new tire also features a decoupling rib that is patent-pending. It promotes even wear on long-haul journeys and helps to boost durability against curbing when driving in the city. According to Cooper Tire, the tire is made to be tough, fuel-efficient, and cost-effective. It comes with the company’s Roadmaster Energy Max compounding that helps it meet the greenhouse gas standards put in place by the U.S. government.

The Roadmaster RM832+ EM™ tire will be available in seven sizes in both Canada and the United States. The sizes include:

  • 295/75R22.5
  • 11R22.5
  • 11R24.5 in Load Range G and H
  • 285/75R24.5 in Load Range H

You can order size 295/75R22.5 starting October 4, 2021. The rest of the sizes listed will be available starting Nov. 1. Executive Director of Cooper’s Global Truck and Bus Tire business Gary Schroeder said that the new Roadmaster tire offers exceptional value to owner-operators and small fleets.

“We’ve designed this tire to be tough, but it’s also cost-effective thanks to the tire’s fuel efficiency. It features our Roadmaster Energy Max compounding, which allows the tire to meet U.S. government greenhouse gas standards,” said Schroeder. “The tire is ahead of the curve in low rolling resistance and is backed by a six-year, two-retread warranty, made possible in large part due to the tire’s four-belt, high-tensile steel casing.”

Furthermore, the tire features a patented stone ejector design that comes with a stepped groove wall in its tread pattern.  “Stone drilling can end a tire’s life prematurely,” said Schroeder. “The technology Cooper has developed for this new tire helps reduce stone drilling in an effort to preserve the integrity of the casing for multiple retreads.” It comes as a great new addition to the commercial lineup of Cooper tires.
