Michelin North America recently added new Turf products to its line of commercial zero-turn radius (ZTR) tires. This will help expand the Tweel airless product lineup.
Starting today, operators of John Deere ZTrak 900 Series ZTR mowers with 48-inch mower decks can get the Michelin X Tweel Turf airless tire as an aftermarket fitment or as original equipment. The tires work with 24-inch, rear tire/wheels with 4×4-inch bolt-pattern hubs in the commercial mowers.
Michelin made sure that the 24x12N12 size 4×4-inch bolt pattern can handle up to 750 pounds. Also, owners of Kubota Z700 Series mowers with 54-inch and 60-inch mower decks can get the Michelin X Tweel Turf airless solution with 24-inch, rear tire/wheels with 5-4.5-inch bolt-pattern hubs for their commercial mowers. Here, the 24x12N12 is also built to handle 750 pounds of weight and can be bought as an aftermarket fitment or original equipment.
The 15-inch Michelin X Tweel Turf caster was previously delayed due to Covid-19. It is currently available for the large diesel ZTR mowers that ride on 26-inch rear drive tires. The 15x6N6 size is designed to provide more stability and enhanced performance thanks to its smooth and flat tread design. It comes with a speed rating of 16 mph and a load capacity of 370 pounds.

With the new tires, there’s no need to carry repair kits, tools, or spare tires. This is because there is no air pressure needed to maintain the Michelin tires. The airless solution combines an efficient contact patch and high-performance compounds to provide long wear life. The tires can also last two to three times longer than similar pneumatic tires.
