Hankook Tire just opened a new testing facility at Applus+ Idiada in Spain.
The center acts as a single shop and is an improvement to the several facilities that were spread out across the site. It will help the company meet its growing demand for the testing and development of Hankook tires.
The workshop started operating in 2021 and includes automated, state-of-the-art, and paperless test logistics.
“Having been operating from the premises since summer last year, we are delighted to have now been able to hold the official opening of the new test center, even though it was on a smaller scale due to the pandemic,” commented Klaus Krause, head of the European Research and Development Centre in Hanover, Germany.
“The state-of-the-art equipment in our new workshop not only allows us to ensure optimal conditions and services, but also to implement the tire tests even more efficiently, which are a crucial part of our development work.”
The new test center is located about 37 miles away from Barcelona. Applus+ has worked in partnership with Hankook for the last 16 years.
