Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will receive new sets of Geolandar M/T mud-terrain Yokohama tires in this year’s Asia Cross Country Rally. The rally will take place in August and Yokohama will supply tires for the team’s pickup trucks and SUVs.
Mitsubishi Motors supplies technical support to the privately operated team. The main operator behind it is Tant Sports from Thailand and will be competing in Mitsubishi’s one-ton pickup truck – Triton.
Yokohama has a three-year (2021 – 2023) medium-term management plan to participate in several motorsports events. The tire manufacturer is keen on forming partnerships with all types of events, from top-tire events to grassroots series.
The Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) debuted in 1996. It is an FIA-certified event that will be running for three years for the first time. In the past, different courses have been held each year. The starting point is Thailand followed by a series of terrains, mountains, jungles, plantations, and beaches through Southeast Asian countries.
