Hankook has partnered with Rescale, a high-performance computing (HPC) cloud simulation platform provider, to help accelerate its digital transformation. The platform will improve Research and Development workflow since the computing resources are scalable.
The R&D process requires data-driven simulation due to the complex characteristics and structure of a tire. HPC will allow Hankook to process complicated calculations at fast speeds. This will improve R&D in engineering simulation.
Hankook Tire is set to upgrade to Rescale’s platform after using its own tire analysis and simulation software for the last 10 years. Rescale can optimize the operational efficiency of the company’s R&D operations by accelerating digital tire twins in the HPC cloud platform.
The tire maker plans to leverage the new partnership to improve digital transformation and compete in innovation when it comes to tire technology. This is especially for self-driving cars, electric vehicles and other sustainable vehicles of the future.
“The partnership with Rescale will take Hankook Tire’s global transformation to the next level,” explained Bonhee Ku, executive vice president and CTO of Hankook Tire. “Hankook Tire will continue challenging ourselves to enhance our competence and lead the mobility market in the future.”
“We are happy to join Hankook Tire’s journey of technological innovation,” commented Jonghyun Hwang, president of Rescale APAC. “Our solutions will assist Hankook Tire to accelerate the development of new technologies and lead the future mobility era.”
