Toyo Tire U.S.A. has unveiled the new Toyo Proxes Sport A/S+, an ultra-high-performance all-season tire designed for sports cars, CUVs, and SUVs. This innovative tire enhances wet traction while maintaining the excellent dry traction of the previous Proxes Sport A/S model.
The Proxes Sport A/S+ incorporates an advanced tread compound that significantly improves wet condition performance, reduces rolling resistance for better fuel efficiency and range, and prolongs tread life. Additionally, select sizes will feature a new High Load (HL) capacity option, ideal for heavier vehicles such as EVs, hybrids, and large SUVs.
The Proxes Sport A/S+ boasts several standout features, including an asymmetric tread design with a high-stiffness outer rib for enhanced cornering, increased sipe density on the inner ribs for superior wet and dry braking, and competitive light snow traction.
Its ultra-high performance casing construction includes a stiff sidewall, high tensile steel belts, and a high-hardness bead filler, all of which improve responsiveness and handling while ensuring even contact pressure during acceleration, braking, and cornering. The tire also features a taper design that enhances traction and handling, and multi-wave sipes that reduce irregular wear for a quieter ride and improve performance in wet and dry conditions.
Available in 80 sizes, the Proxes Sport A/S+ fits wheel diameters ranging from 17 to 22 inches and offers W, Y, and (Y) speed ratings. This tire is suitable for a wide range of sports cars, CUVs, and SUVs and comes with a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty and a 45-day/500-mile trial offer.
The initial sizes will be available starting in July, with more sizes, including the first HL capacity tires, scheduled for release later in 2024 and early 2025. Popular vehicle fitments for the Proxes Sport A/S+ include models from Audi, BMW, Ford Mustang and Mustang Mach-E, Nissan Z, Tesla Model 3, X, and Y, and the Toyota GR Supra.
