Hankook Tire has achieved the prestigious three-star rating in the Environmental Accreditation Programme by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the highest recognition for environmental and sustainability efforts.
The FIA’s Environmental Accreditation Programme aims to drive sustainable practices in the motorsports and mobility sectors. The accreditation assesses various sustainability criteria, including environmental performance, reductions in energy consumption, improved logistics efficiency, optimized waste management, and the adoption of carbon neutrality initiatives.
Hankook Tire received the top rating due to its proactive role in advancing sustainability, particularly through its involvement in climate change mitigation efforts. As the exclusive tire supplier and sponsor of the FIA Formula E World Championship, the company has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable practices.
In addition to its role in Formula E, Hankook has transformed its tire production into a fully circular process. This includes every phase of the tire’s life cycle, from sourcing raw materials to production and recycling post-use. The company has integrated Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) at each stage—spanning raw material acquisition, manufacturing, transportation, and eventual recycling—while adhering to new standards for monitoring carbon footprints.
This achievement highlights Hankook’s dedication to environmental responsibility within the global motorsports arena.
