Escapod Partners with General Tire to Enhance Off-Road Adventure Trailers

Escapod, a leader in off-road teardrop trailers built for adventure enthusiasts, has announced an exciting new partnership with tire manufacturer General Tire. This collaboration, aligned with Escapod’s focus on delivering high-performance, user-friendly trailers, aims to provide a superior driving experience and enhanced durability for those venturing into rough terrain.

Escapod has long equipped its trailers with General Tire’s popular Grabber A/T X tires, praised for their resilience, longevity, and adaptability across various landscapes. This new alliance introduces a tire customization program that allows Escapod customers to select from three specialized Grabber models based on the terrain they intend to tackle and the trailer model they choose.

Escapod’s co-founder, Chris Hudak, shared the company’s enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it reaffirms their dedication to performance and dependability. Hudak emphasized that every element of their trailers is chosen with purpose. While tire tread and grip might not seem critical for trailers, Hudak argued they are essential for achieving an optimal driving experience and reliable performance on off-road routes. With this tire customization program, he stated, customers can concentrate on their outdoor activities without worrying about tire durability, even in tough environments.

The addition of full-size tires to Escapod trailers enhances towing ease both on and off paved roads. Using General Tire’s Grabber series—equipped with robust 12-ply sidewalls—provides superior traction, puncture resistance, and resilience on challenging surfaces like mud, gravel, and rocky paths. These full-size tires not only offer a quieter, smoother towing experience but also improve vehicle tracking, making the trailer follow seamlessly. Additionally, a standardized bolt pattern allows most towing vehicles’ spare tires to double as spares for the trailer, adding a level of convenience by reducing the need for additional gear.

For different trailer models, Escapod utilizes various Grabber tires to suit their specific uses. The TOPO2 Nomad trailer, designed for a balanced blend of on-road and off-road driving, comes equipped with the Grabber APT, an all-terrain tire optimized for smoother road handling. In contrast, the TOPO2 Voyager model, which is tailored for rougher trails, is fitted with the A/T X tires to handle both paved and unpaved roads effectively. For those who primarily go off-road, customers can opt for the X3 tire upgrade, providing unmatched durability for extreme conditions.

Marco Robelo, an automotive engineer at General Tire, highlighted that partnering with industry leaders in off-road equipment aligns with General Tire’s goals, and he views Escapod as an ideal partner in the rugged trailer space. Robelo stated that Escapod’s innovative trailer designs, combined with General Tire’s engineering expertise, create a product that offers high-performance and reliable solutions for off-road enthusiasts.

Since its founding in 2016, Escapod has continually refined its trailers, including innovations like a patented single-piece molded fiberglass shell and a proprietary Freeride Suspension System on the TOPO2 model. The result is a lightweight, highly durable trailer that is fully capable of following four-wheel-drive vehicles into remote and challenging areas.

Through this partnership, both Escapod and General Tire aim to empower outdoor enthusiasts to reach new destinations and enjoy a more reliable, comfortable off-road journey.
