Pirelli Unveils Scorpion XTM Tire Line for EV, Hybrid, and ICE Off-Road Vehicles

Pirelli North America has introduced its latest tire offering, the Scorpion XTM line, designed to cater to the unique demands of electric, plug-in hybrid, and internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks and off-road vehicles. The company has stated that the Scorpion XTM line is engineered to provide exceptional off-road capabilities and was specifically developed to excel in all-terrain driving conditions.

The “XTM” name signifies “extreme performance,” reflecting the tire’s bold, aggressive design and advanced technology tailored to the needs of modern truck and off-road enthusiasts, according to Pirelli.

Particularly suited for North American markets, the Scorpion XTM is crafted to perform in demanding environments, including snowy conditions. The tire holds a three-peak mountain snowflake rating, indicating its superior winter performance.

Pirelli has released two distinct versions of the Scorpion XTM tire:

1. Scorpion XTM for Electric and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles: This variant is equipped with Pirelli’s proprietary Elect technology, focusing on reducing rolling resistance and minimizing noise, which enhances the range and overall efficiency of electric vehicles.

2. Scorpion XTM for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Vehicles: Tailored for traditional ICE trucks, this version prioritizes off-road traction, durability, and highway comfort.

The Scorpion XTM features a high-void tread pattern, designed to perform well in tough off-road conditions such as dirt, gravel, and mud. Additionally, the Pirelli tire includes a “radical” sidewall design with reinforced shoulder technology for increased protection against external obstacles.

To back the tire’s durability, Pirelli offers a 55,000-mile limited warranty for the Scorpion XTM.
