Nexen Tire Unveils Innovative Future Mobility Concept Tire in Partnership with KIDP

Nexen Tire has revealed a groundbreaking next-generation mobility concept tire, developed in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP). The cutting-edge design is currently on display at The Nexen University in Magok, located in western Seoul, and is also being showcased through various social media platforms to reach a broader audience.

The project, which took six months to complete, brought together ten talented students from top universities across South Korea. Their collaborative efforts combined creativity with technical expertise, resulting in a novel approach to future mobility solutions. The partnership with KIDP, a government-supported entity that fosters research and development in industrial design, underscores both organizations’ shared commitment to advancing innovative, forward-thinking transportation concepts that go beyond simple design upgrades.

The centerpiece of the project is a concept for a separable and combinable public transportation system, designed to link urban centers with suburban areas. This new transportation model envisions modular units that can be freely combined or separated, making the movement between different parts of a city more flexible and efficient. The design incorporates omni-wheel technology, which allows for 360-degree rotation, offering unparalleled mobility and ease of movement for the units.

A representative from Nexen Tire emphasized the importance of such projects, stating that the energy and inventive ideas from young talents are a significant source of inspiration for the company’s technological development. He added that initiatives like this play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of mobility solutions and in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the transportation sector.
