Michelin has introduced its latest innovation, the e.Primacy all-season tire, designed for drivers who prioritize fuel efficiency and longer vehicle range. The new tire is particularly suited for hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) owners looking to maximize performance while minimizing energy consumption.
Enhanced Efficiency for Modern Vehicles
Michelin claims that the e.Primacy tire outperforms two leading competitors by improving efficiency by up to 25%. This translates to up to 20 additional miles of battery range for electric vehicles, along with the potential to save a full tank of gas annually. To achieve these gains, Michelin developed a special GreenPower Compound that reduces energy consumption and enhances tread longevity.
Longevity and Comfort
The e.Primacy tire also offers extended durability. Michelin reports that when used on electric vehicles, the e.Primacy lasts up to 13,000 miles longer than two leading competitors, potentially adding an entire extra year of driving to the vehicle’s lifespan.
For added comfort, the Michelin tire features Michelin’s Cushion Guard technology, a soft rubber layer placed between the tread and steel belts to absorb road impacts and provide a smoother ride. Additionally, the tire uses Piano Acoustic Technology, which reduces road noise for a quieter driving experience.
Michelin’s Commitment to Innovation
Omer Waysman, Vice President of Marketing for Michelin North America, explained that as the automotive market evolves with the growth of hybrids and EVs, Michelin remains committed to delivering reliable and long-lasting performance. He emphasized that the e.Primacy tire is the perfect solution for consumers who need fuel efficiency and extended range, ensuring their vehicles perform optimally during every journey.
