General Grabber AT3 Tire Approved for the Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV

Mercedes-AMG has given General Tire’s Grabber AT3 its seal of approval as an accepted fitment for its off-road behemoth, the G63 SUV. The decision broadens tire options for the high-performance luxury SUV, offering drivers a more off-road-capable alternative to the Grabber HTS60, which comes factory-installed.

The latest off-road tire is now available in a 20-inch size, stamped with the MO1A designation that signifies Mercedes’ OEM approval. The G63 takes 275/50 R 20 113H XL as its recommended size.

Where the Grabber HTS is more highway-comfort oriented, the AT3 is focused on rugged versatility. General Tire made it a point to stress that the AT3 is built to perform reliably across a variety of off-road surfaces, including gravel, mud, sand, and rock trails. The tire offers enhanced grip and durability, qualities the G63’s adventurous personality requires.

Company officials of General Tire explained that the Grabber AT3 was built to operate in on-road and off-road conditions. The tread pattern has interlocking edges that dig into loose surfaces for acceleration and braking. The sidewall blocks and protective ribs on the reinforced sidewalls shed debris and protect the tire from impact damage. Built with a durable rubber compound, the AT3 also promises a good service life and steady performance regardless of the season.

Rated for speeds up to 210 km/h (around 130 mph), the Grabber AT3 balances off-road capability and on-road comfort for a total solution for G63 owners who need more from their tires than routine highway driving allows.

The approval further establishes General Tire’s position as a significant supplier in the premium SUV segment, with Mercedes-AMG authorizing the fitment of the AT3 on cars driven by individuals who take their G63 off-road.
