Tesla introduced the nationwide Wheel and Tire Protection Plan (WTPP) subscription in the U.S., safeguarding drivers from common road hazards. The plan safeguards against punctures, debris, and pothole damage with month-to-month flexibility instead of upfront costs.

Prices differ by model, from $12 a month for the Model 3 to $25 a month for the Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid. Insurance for the Cybertruck is $20 a month.

Members receive unlimited tire repair from everyday hazards, along with wheel or tire replacement with only a $25 deductible. Protection takes effect as soon as it is activated and lasts up to 24 months if not terminated.

To qualify, owners must have either purchased a new eligible Tesla within the last 30 days, had four new tires installed through Tesla service, or have had a complimentary inspection. Owners can enroll directly in the Tesla app at Upgrades > Service Plans > Wheel and Tire Protection.

The plan excludes cosmetic damage, theft, vandalism, pre-existing conditions, and Tesla tires with less than 4/32” tread. Tesla Roadside Assistance remains available around the clock for emergencies.

This new option adds to Tesla’s growing lineup of subscription services, which already includes a monthly Extended Service Agreement and a windshield protection plan. By shifting away from lump-sum costs, Tesla is offering more flexible ownership solutions tailored to individual drivers.
