Yokohama Rubber has announced that its GEOLANDAR line will be specified as original equipment (OE) on the new Toyota Motor Corporation 4Runner sport utility vehicle, which was introduced in January. The company will be shipping GEOLANDAR A/T G31 245/70R18 110H tires for Latin America and GEOLANDAR X-CV 245/70R17 110T and 265/55R20 113V tires for North America.
The GEOLANDAR A/T G31 focuses on all-terrain agility, with strong on-road handling and off-road capability, as well as improved fuel efficiency and noise damping with comfort and steering stability maintained. Meanwhile, the GEOLANDAR X-CV is developed for high-speed driving, giving improved agility, reduced rolling resistance, and consistency of stability.
These Yokohama tires were developed using HAICoLab, an AI-based platform that combines human creativity and imagination with the processing power of AI. Engineers used evolutionary computation and genetic algorithms, combining real-world and simulated test data to optimize tread patterns and maximize performance.
