Kumho Tire U.S.A. has introduced its new Road Venture RT, a rugged-terrain tire that tries to bridge the gap between all-terrain and mud-terrain tires. The tire will be available starting in September in 27 sizes for 17- to 22-inch rims.
The company promoted the Road Venture RT as a hybrid tire that delivers aggressive on-road traction and off-road durability and still allows for smooth on-highway driving. The truck comes with a 50,000-mile tread wear warranty, highlighting Kumho’s belief in longevity.
Ed Cho, CEO of Kumho Tire U.S.A., emphasized that the tire was designed to address a growing number of truck and SUV drivers seeking hybrid solutions able to conquer off-road surfaces without compromising on-road comfort. He continued that Kumho remains committed to producing top-notch tires that combine performance, reliability, and affordability.
The Road Venture RT has several features. Side biter configuration, wave shoulder grooves to discharge stones, and spider web casing configuration enhance off-road capability. Interlocking center blocks for improved straight-line stability, varied pitch configuration to absorb road noise, and damping technology to reduce noise in the ride enhance on-road comfort.
Rain performance is improved through a micro-silica compound and grooves optimized to improve water evacuation. Carbon black-containing tread compound S-SBR is formulated for wear and chipping resistance, and to provide longer tire life with a consistent footprint.
The tire will be offered with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and road hazard warranty. Kumho also indicated that plans are under way to expand size range in 2026.
