Nexen Tire has confirmed that it will supply its N’Blue S summer tire as original equipment for Kia’s latest electric vehicle, the Kia PV5.
The tire, sized 215/65R16 102H, is designed to improve efficiency and performance for electric commercial vehicles. This announcement highlights Nexen’s increasing role in supporting car manufacturers with tire technologies suited for electric platforms.
Kia PV5: A Flexible PBV Strategy Model
The Kia PV5 is built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform. It is designed for flexibility and can be used for various applications, including family transport, camping, business, and urban logistics. Kia expects the PV5 to be a key part of its global PBV strategy.
N’Blue S Technology Enhancements
The N’Blue S features Nexen’s Sidewall Aero Dynamic technology, which reduces noise and improves fuel efficiency to meet European standards. A new groove structure enhances wet performance and high-speed water drainage, while stable braking and durability provide reliable handling in different driving conditions.
Strengthening Kia Partnership
Nexen has steadily grown its OE supply portfolio with Kia, covering electric models like the EV3, EV4, EV6, EV9, and now the PV5. This partnership shows Nexen’s long-term commitment to tire solutions for electric vehicles.
