In a recent announcement, Toyo Tire USA appointed John Thomas as the new president and chief executive officer. Thomas comes with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive space. He has extensive knowledge when it comes to the OEM and aftermarket landscapes in North America. He last served as the president and CEO of Webasto Charging Systems, a company that is based in Monrovia, CA and operates in a completely different sector in the industry.
Thomas will work under the chairman of the Toyo Tire USA board, Tatsuo Mitsuhata. Mitsuhata is based at the company’s global headquarters in Japan where he is also the director and corporate office of Toyo Tire Corporations and Vice President of sales.
He will oversee different departments at Toyo Tires including sales, marketing, planning, pricing, finance, technical services, and product planning.
He takes over from Roy Bromfield who is expected to retire this July after working with Toyo Tire for nine years. Bromfield has over 37 years of experience in the tire industry and will continue to serve as an advisor to the company until the end of 2021. His insights have helped the tire manufacturer produce better Toyo tires for years.
